    INbank™ will only be available for research that advances the Fairbanks Institute’s mission of improving community health through the study of chronic diseases common to the Central Indiana population.

    The samples and information from the INbank™ will be made available for academic, government and commercial research studies.
  3. What is the ethnic representation of INbank™?
    The Fairbanks Institute plans to collect samples and information so that INbank™ is ethnically diverse, reflecting the national population, and includes understudied populations. At this time, it is too early to provide accurate statistics regarding the ethnic representation of INbank™. Please check back as we will provide this information as it becomes available.
  4. Does the Fairbanks Institute plan to make research results available to the public?
    Yes. The Fairbanks Institute will report improvements to community health related to chronic diseases as results become available.

  6. How does the Fairbanks Institute process and store the samples and data that are collected?
    The Fairbanks Institute relies on its partners who are experts in their fields for the processing and storage of biological samples and the secure management of medical information. Biological samples are processed by BioServe™, an experienced provider of GLP biological sample preparation, molecular analysis and biological sample storage services based in Beltsville, MD. Long term sample storage is provided by BioStorage Technologies, an expert provider of biomaterials cold storage, inventory tracking and shipping services, located in Indianapolis. Data management is done by the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., globally recognized for their expertise in the secure management of medical data and the protection of patient privacy.
